The Articles - Τα Άρθρα

Lesson 7 - Greek Grammar

Articles (άρθρα, singular "το άρθρο") are small words that are placed in front of nouns and adjectives. Click the green arrow to listen to the sound of the articles.

The Greek language has two kinds of articles:

1. The Definite article (το οριστικό άρθρο)

Table 7.1

Singular (ενικός αριθμός) Plural (πληθυντικός αριθμός)
ο, η, το = the Play Sound οι, οι, τα = the Play Sound

2. The Indefinite article (το αόριστο άρθρο)

Table 7.2

ένας, μία, ένα = a, one Play Sound

Ok, I know! Some of you that don't have any background in the Greek language are wondering about the three types of articles in each set. Well all you have to do is click the link for Lesson 8 and you'll see!!!
