In English
Odysseus was king of the island of Ithaca (Ιθάκη). He was married to Penelope,
and they had a son. His son, Telemachus, was a newborn when Odysseus joined the
rest of the Greeks in the Trojan war.
Odysseus was known for his shrewdness. He fought many battles in
Troy (Τροία)
and he was recognized as a hero. His participation in this war was crucial to
the victory. After all,
he was the one, that conceived the plan with the Trojan horse. After 10 years Troy
was defeated and Odysseus prepared to return to Greece. He could not wait.
All these years he missed his family and his island.
He started preparing his ships with his companions. When the wind blew to their
favor, they left Troy. And this is how his adventures began...
