Punctuation Marks -Σημεία Στίξης

  The punctuation marks (σημεία στίξης) of the Greek language are:

  • η τελεία (.) (period) Play Sound
  • η άνω τελεία (·) (semicolon) Play Sound
  • το κόμμα (,) (comma) Play Sound
  • η διπλή τελεία (:) (colon) Play Sound
  • το ερωτηματικό (;) (question mark) Play Sound
  • το θαυμαστικό ( ! ) (exclamation mark) Play Sound
  • τα αποσιωπητικά (...) (ellipsis) Play Sound
  • η παρένθεση ( ) (parentheses) Play Sound
  • τα εισαγωγικά ( « ») (quotation marks) Play Sound
  • η παύλα (-) (dash) Play Sound

  The meanings of the punctuation marks are the same as they are in the English language. There is a difference in the symbolism of some of them (semicolon, question mark and the quotation marks).
