  * Within the word "γαϊδούρι" there is  ¨  on top of the vowel "ι". 
This is another sign called Διαλυτικά (thialiti-KA), and it separates the double vowel into its sounds. So you will not sound "αι" as the double letter, but as "α" and "ι" separately.
