The Return to Seriphos
In EnglishPerseus made Dictys king of the island. Dictys after all was a good person and he had helped our hero and his mother. He took his mother and Andromeda and they went to Argos. Akrisius heard about his return and left because he remembered the oracle. Perseus now was the king of the city of Argos. He returned Poseidon's helmet and the pouch with the winged sandals to the water nymphs. He also gave back to Hermes the sword. Medusa's head, he gave to Athena. He was happy and so were the people of Argos. He was a fair and good king. His grandfather though did not escape from his destiny. One day Perseus organized athletic games. Among the viewers was Akrisius. Perseus was one of the athletes that were competing. He threw the discus. The discus went high and far and hit Akrisius in the head. Akrisius died from the hand of his grandchild as the oracle said. Perseus buried his grandfather. After that he did not want to be the king of Argos anymore. He went to Tiryns (Tirintha = Τίρυνθα). He became the king there and in Argos he placed his relative, Megapenthes (ο Μεγαπένθης) in the throne. Perseus and Andromeda lived to be old. After many many years, when they died, they became immortals and Athena placed them in the sky as stars... In GreekΟ Περσέας έβαλε τον Δίκτυ βασιλιά στο νησί. Ο Δίκτυς έτσι κι αλλιώς ήταν καλός άνθρωπος και είχε βοηθήσει τον ήρωά μας και την μητέρα του. Πήρε την μητέρα του και την Ανδρομέδα και πήγαν στο Άργος. Ο Ακρίσιος άκουσε για την επιστροφή του και έφυγε γιατί θυμήθηκε τον χρησμό. Ο Περσέας τώρα ήταν βασιλιάς στην πόλη του Άργους. Επέστρεψε την περικεφαλαία του Ποσειδώνα, και το σακί με τα φτερωτά σανδάλια στις νεράιδες. Επίσης έδωσε πίσω στον Ερμή το σπάθί. Το κεφάλι της Μέδουσας, το έδωσε στην Αθηνά. Ήταν ευτυχισμένος και το ίδιο ήταν ο λαός του Άργους. Ήταν δίκαιος και καλός βασιλιάς. Ο παππούς του όμως δεν δραπέτευσε από το πεπρωμένο του. Μια μέρα ο Περσέας οργάνωσε αθλητικούς αγώνες. Ανάμεσα στους θεατές ήταν ο Ακρίσιος. Ο Περσέας ήταν ένας από τους αθλητές που αγωνίζονταν. Έριξε τον δίσκο. Ο δίσκος πήγε ψηλά και μακρυά και χτύπησε τον Ακρίσιο στο κεφάλι. Ο Ακρίσιος πέθανε από το χέρι του εγγονού του όπως είπε ο χρησμός. Ο Περσέας έθαψε τον παππού του. Μετά απ' αυτό δεν ήθελε άλλο να είναι ο βασιλιάς στο Άργος. Πήγε στην Τίρυνθα. Έγινε βασιλιάς εκεί και στο Άργος έβαλε τον συγγενή του, τον Μεγαπένθη στον θρόνο. Ο Περσέας και η Ανδρομέδα έζησαν μέχρι τα βαθιά γεράματα. Μετά από πολλά-πολλά χρόνια, όταν πέθαναν, έγιναν αθάνατοι και η Αθηνά τους έβαλε στον ουρανό ως αστέρια... Words you Need to Learn(+) Show or Hide the "Key"
