Greek Mythology - The Odyssey

Chapter 13

The Island of the Phaeacians
Το Νησί των Φαιάκων

In English

Our hero was at sea, traveling for eighteen days. He could see on the horizon the island of the Phaeacians (των Φαιάκων). Suddenly though, god Poseidon spotted him in the sea. Poseidon was not in the meeting with the gods and he was upset with Odysseus. He created a terrible storm. The raft broke into pieces. Odysseus was fighting the waves. Goddess Lefkothea (Λευκοθέα) saw him and felt sorry for him. She told him to take off his clothes and gave him a magic scarf to protect him from danger.
