In EnglishJason knew that the trip to Kolhida would be long and difficult. He asked a great shipbuilder, Argos (Άργος), to build him a strong vessel. The boat was named after him, Argo (Αργώ). Even the sailors took the name Argonauts (Argonaftes) from the name of the ship.Jason knew that he would not be able to accomplish the task given to him without help. He invited all of the great heroes living in Greece at the time to join him on the expedition. Everyone from Hercules to Atalanti (Αταλάντη) from Arcadia (Αρκαδία), who was a beautiful woman, but as strong as a man, joined Jason in Iolko. Among them also were the hero Theseus and the singer Orpheus (Ορφέας). The goddess Athena (Αθηνά) gave them a piece of wood from the oracle of Dodoni which was placed on the prow of the ship. The Argonauts asked at their most difficult times, advise from the talking piece of wood. Athena was not the only goddess protecting them. Apollo and Hera and many other gods were with them in this big expedition. Everybody decided that the leader of this expedition should be Hercules. The great hero though advised everybody that Jason should be the leader and Tifus (Τίφης) would be the ship's captain. Jason wanted to see Heronas before he set sail, who at the time was teaching a very young boy named Achilles (Αχιλλέας). After hearing Heronas advise, Jason with the Argonauts started their journey. In GreekΟ Ιάσονας ήξερε ότι το ταξίδι στην Κολχίδα θα ήταν μακρυνό και δύσκολο. Ζήτησε από έναν ναυπηγό, τον Άργο, να του φτιάξει ένα γερό σκάφος. Το καράβι ονομάστηκε μετά απ' αυτόν, Αργώ. Ακόμα και οι ναύτες πήραν το όνομα Αργοναύτες, από το όνομα του πλοίου. Ο Ιάσονας ήξερε πως δεν θα μπορούσε να κατορθώσει το έργο που του δώθηκε χωρίς βοήθεια. Προσκάλεσε όλους τους μεγάλους ήρωες που ζούσαν στην Ελλάδα εκείνη την εποχή να τον βοηθήσουν με την εκστρατεία. Όλοι, από τον Ηρακλή μέχρι την Αταλάντη από την Αρκαδία, που ήταν γυναίκα αλλά δυνατή σαν άντρας, συναντήθηκαν στην Ιωλκό. Μεταξύ τους ήταν επίσης ο ήρωας Θησέας και ο τραγουδιστής Ορφέας. Η θεά Αθηνά τους έδωσε ένα κομμάτι ξύλο από το μαντείο της Δωδώνης που το έβαλαν στην πλώρη του καραβιού. Οι αργοναύτες ζητούσαν στις πιο δύσκολες στιγμές τους, συμβουλές, από το ομιλούμενο ξύλο. Η Αθηνά δεν ήταν η μόνη θεά που τους προστάτευε. Ο Απόλλωνας και η Ήρα και πολλοί άλλοι θεοί ήταν μαζί τους στην μεγάλη αυτή εκστρατεία. Όλοι αποφάσισαν ότι αρχηγός της εκστρατείας θα έπρεπε να είναι ο Ηρακλής. Ο μεγάλος ήρωας όμως, τους συμβούλεψε πως ο Ιάσονας θα πρέπει να είναι ο αρχηγός και ο Τίφης θα είναι ο καπετάνιος του πλοίου. Ο Ιάσονας ήθελε να δει τον Χείρωνα πριν να εκπλεύσει, ο οποίος την εποχή αυτή δίδασκε ένα νέο αγόρι που το έλεγαν Αχιλλέα. Αφού άκουσε την συμβουλή του Χείρωνα, ο Ιάσονας με τους αργοναύτες άρχισαν το ταξίδι τους. Words you Need to Learn(+) Show or Hide the "Key"
